Re: (TV) Drums & Schwartzberg/Ficca/Willson-Piper

Two theories:
1) some of the Verlaine's feelings about Ficca's drumming over the years might be explained by Schwartzberg's remarks on what Verlaine likes and doesn't
like
the drummer to do.

I'm reminded of a remark told to me by someone close to Television (and it *wasn't* Richard L) about something that happened during a rehearsal when Verlaine lost his temper and shouted at Ficca, "This isn't a fucking jazz band!".

Obviously Billy, while perfect for Television, doesn't fit into Tom's structure for his own recording (only appearing on Warm and Cool). Even though, during a Television gig, it's Tom and Billy who seem to connect and control the flow of the show. And, of course, Billy's been there from the very start.
