Haven't seen TRL. Must do sometime.
Fanny & Alexander -- yes, absolutely wonderful.
Malick's Badlands -- one of the greats. For years I wondered what the
memorable haunting music in that film was. Eventually I tracked it down.
It's a piece by German composer Carl Orff, written as children's music
actually. See, for example,

Not only rock music, the 1970s was also a great time for American cinema.
Two other favourites: Rafelson's "Five Easy Pieces" and "The King of Marvin
Gardens". (With subject matter reminiscent of Verlaine songs...)
