I still think the following is THE way to record "Television IV":

(1) Book medium-sized venue for four, five night stand.
(2) Have band include all the new songs in each night's set.
(3) Record each night's set with plenty of separation, with the best
equipment you can muster.
(4) Pick best performance of each new song.
(5) RECORD ALL VOCALS AS OVERDUBS, but DO NOT ADD ANY FURTHER
OVERDUBS... leave the instrumental performance as live as possible
(but no audience noise).

And I'll now add:

(6) Okay, sure, have Patti do a guest shot for marquee (moon?) value. 
I think it would sell a few more records and yet be a
historically/artistically appropriate collaboration.  I think we in
the Cult O' TV lose track of this sometimes because we think of them
as contemporaries... but... Patti's got a lot of fans who barely know
Tom or Television.

Meanwhile, the first album had a 2-word title... second album a 1-word
title... 3rd album 0 words... this one should therefore be called
"TELEV".
