Re: (TV) four for four

Rather than four for four what about those artists who have produced some sublime album masterworks and an unfathomable amount of utter dreck as well? Not just an off colour moment with some redeeming qualities (The Wonder?) but an unmitigated howler completely lacking any quality control.

Lou Reed
Can
Clash
Iggy

Just a few that spring to mind

That record makes me crazy. Bad crazy. I pin the blame on the rhythm section. It's so damn static. It sounds like the drummer is hammering together IKEA furniture.

THE WONDER is the closest relative to the 1992 reunion LP. But I bet David Cleary feels differently about that record.

That's a rubbish review of The Wonder. It is inconsistent, but half of it is
up there with Tom's best; in other words, four-minute masterpieces...
Pillow, Prayer, Calais, Egypt, August.

(I've always been amused at Verlaine's ludicrous claim that Ferry stole
loads of ideas from him via Eno - as >if he *needed* to)

So, he got even on 'The Wonder', according to one reviewer
