It's a total myth that Ricks can't rock... just listen to The Jam.  I use a
330 as my all-around guitar... my band is a 3-piece and I play all the damn
guitar, and the set's pretty evenly split between clean and dirty sounds and
the Rick fills up the space quite nicely.  Totally have to admit that the
Jam *was* the role model for that sound when we formed the band and I bought
my amp with that in mind as well.  And I haven't run it through proper
"distortion", like, ever... always amp overdrive or in a pinch a little Tube
Screamer copy I borrow from my drummer.

Sometimes at work I run the 330 through a mid-level Marshall and you really
have to finesse it so it doesn't sound pissy and it can occasionally squeal
since it's a semi-hollow, but with my setup it's just about perfect for what
I do.
