(TV) "Feeding Back"

Nobody in here picked up David Todd's "Feeding Back"? I finally ordered this
collection of interviews with 25 "alternative" guitar players. Haven't got
through them all, but so far it's an satisfying, well-written read, although
there are more informative ones than the Verlaine chapter, which is 17 pages
long, including a 2-page introduction. I expected a deeper text about
technique and equipment, but it's more about pretty well-known influences and
his love for two-guitar orchestras; didn't knew that Fender "sort of"
approached him about a signature Jazzmaster model, either. He calls his
left-hand playing and string-bending "primitive" -- but why in God's name no
mentioning of his really masterful right-hand, volume-knob technique? Apart
from this, John Frusciante from Red Hot Chili Peppers cites Verlaine as his
biggest idol, and Keith Levene from PiL also recognise him as a major
instrumentalist -- but Johnny Marr from the Smiths picks Lloyd as a
favourite.
