Re: (TV) patti in austin (peripheral verlaine content) (includes UFOs)

.However, somewhere or other I did read or hear E.T.
buffs believe not only in bald, bulbous-headed grey midget E.T.s, but that
there supposedly exists another race of E.T.s known as "Nordics" who visit
Earth, & sometimes mingle with humans, who are TALL & BLONDE & much resemble
HUMANS!
Yep, this is true, Bob! The Nordics are indeed tall and blonde and are often reported.

I like your theory. :)

Hm, you don't think Tom's bio about supposedly being "Tom Miller from
an ordinary middle class family in Wilmington, Delaware" could possibly be
just a convenient & well developed cover story, do you, & that Tom really
hails from much farther afield?? Well, if Tom suddenly disappears without a
trace one day when some mysterious lights are seen in the sky, there may be a
few Tom fans out there who'll be saying "told ya so!"

On the
recording where he plays the song "UFO", before he starts playing, it sounds
like he says, the cartoon show was called "UFO". Live show from 3-09-75.
Someone should ask Richard Hell about it, I'm sure he would know what Tom was
referring to.

Oh and we forgot a couple of very
obvious ones: "UFO" and
"Saucer Crash".
Yeah not sure what show he was talking about. Maybe The

Jetsons?

Hey Glenn, to tie into what you
brought up, you could
also relate the 'face at the window kept smiling'...as
an
alien face. I'm not saying that he's an abductee, but
he's def had an
interest in the subject. He also
mentioned about that little cartoon show
he used to watch
about UFO's, which I could never figure out what show he
was
talking about.

This is going to sound a bit, er,
"out there", but I've often wondered if
Tom is an alien abductee. I'm
serious. I don't know
if
anyone else on the
list has studied the
subject of UFOs and alien
abduction to
any degree, but
I have. For
around 30 years, actually. It is a
serious topic
as anyone who

truly digs into it will soon discover.
Anyway, Tom seems to have a
fascination with the
subject,
going back a long
way. Song lyrics
like "Up in the high, high hills,
with my
floating
friends"; then
in "I Am Daylight" he sings: "It
sounds
funny, but they kind
of
fly around".
Lots of UFO/space imagery throughout his songs:
'Mars", "The
Rocket", not
to mention the overall sci-fi tone of much
of his
work.
"Souvenir From A
Dream" is another one that seemingly
contains
abduction
imagery.

Okay, flame away!

heh? Very cool, I would
have liked to have

last night.
great
show, she was in great humor,
very up
and sounding
great (i saw
her the day before at a
radio
taping and it was
the same
thing). the highlight
was
definitely "distant
fingers," which
she introduced with a
story
about tom and
UFOs.

she said back in 1974, when she and tom
were
both playing
CBs,
they'd go out to the alley between
sets
and "do things"
(laughing). she said the sky back
then
was full of
UFOs over
CBGB's (they're gone now, she
says),
and she and
tom would
watch them together.
she said
she wrote the
song for him.
(i'm sure none of this is new, but she
told it
well.)
i think i read once that when she
picked her
current home,
she knew immediately when she saw it
that it
was the right
place, because inside was this huge
spaceship
sign that she
and tom used to look at together.
or
something like
that.

just looking for something to do
because TV
won't play
