(TV) Agree & Mr. Young / Sir Douglas Quintet LP? / RE: (TV) Re: (TV) roio > Blog Archive > TELEVISION - MILAN 2014

I couldn't agree with you more Joe. [And yes I know that file size and
convenience seems to triumph all other considerations ... I have two
"out-board" hard drives so Lossless FLAC is not a problem.]

I'll be interested to see if Neil Young's new Lossless "player" is cheap
enough to make it successful. Unfortunately, I 'm willing to bet the new
Television album it won't be.

N.P.: American Stares & Bars

PS: Does anyone know if Edsel Records in UK still exists? My searches on
internet turned up dead-ends. I am looking for "Sir Doug's Recording Trip"
(Doug Sahm) ....I believe it's only on vinyl.

MP3s suck. Depending on how they're converted from the original, they
lose some to a lot of the signal and can have audible distortion. (I had
gotten Sirius XM for free when I bought my car and found their stream
sounded
so bad I couldn't listen to it without cringing.)

FLAC is just another compression method, but it's lossless so that it sounds
like the original WAV files. Just about any program you use to play MP3s
should be able to handle FLACs, but if not we can make some recommendations.

It's really worth the time to get FLACs playing on your system.
