(TV) "live" music

Personally i think this sucks...live rock n roll my arse as Jim from the
Royle family might say....it doesn't surprise me at all
though....interestingly i've heard rumours (from a very reliable source)
that U2 of all people used to have extra musicians playing from under the
stage during the Zooropa tour (presumably it was to replace the idiot boy
bassist)...

Ironically the Chemical Bros and Fatboy Slim are in reality actually a lot
more spontaneous live than The Stereofuckwits could ever hope to
be -(wouldn't be very hard by the sounds of it all the same)- the technology
they use means that they can constantly play around and extend their jams
for maximum crowd-pleasing effect....there's no note for note replication of
the records going on here.....

It really has to be said that the best modern dance music takes a hell of a
lot more chances than "rock" music ever does any more and that is why one is
flourishing and the other is floundering and why we spend most of our time
on this list talking about groups from years ago and not bands of today...
