I'm not familiar with the Strokes-- but I checked their
entry on AMG and it makes no mention of Albert Hammond Jr
being the son of Albert Hammond (thee Albert Hammond, that
is).

It also says that he got the "music bug" after seeing a
film on Buddy Holly-- doesn't sound like someone whose
father is a professional musician/songwriter..
