Re: (TV) Scenes

Well , my scene is North Of England . And I have to mention here that I do
not hate the Queen Of England . Won't go any further , just my opinion .

The scene up here is slowly taking a grip and people are slowly motivating
themselves to actually do something . I've been trying to encourage it for
10 years now and it finally seems to be happening .
Lots of kids are wearing the 'nu-metal' gear (thanks for that USA) and
blaring out Limp Bizkit etc , but the music makers are going for vastly
cooler tones .

A good underground of fuzz/US/ influenced groups and lots of straight down
the line rock bands with indie/alternative leanings .

Lots of culture , paricularly Newcastle . A big arts city , lots of theatre
, dance , exhibitions covering the whole spectrum . The Centre for Life is
also here (wow) .

Here's a good website to check out for info on the scene .

The Cheesemakers are , of course , fine revered members of this scene -
elder statesmen in fact and photos , reports of our part in the scene can be
found at
http://thecheesemakers.freeservers.com
and a CD recorded 6 weeks ago is available via Changes One in the UK and
Subterranean Records in NY , USA , documenting a gig from that very scene .

A good thread Ken . Great to hear what's up in other people's towns .

Andy
