no need-i loved (and still love) the Kings of the Wild Frontier lp-hell even
the bsides were great-eg "press darlings"-the Antmusic package was a great
big glam colourburst of rhythm and energy that was much needed at the time
and the music has stood the test of time fantastically well-having said that
i never really dug anything before or after KOTWF apart from the odd single
like "goody two shoes"

I once worked with producer Hugh Jones who actually engineered this record
and he told me some great stories like the one about Marco Perroni once
eating a complete humungous chocolate cake by himself at dinner! no wonder
the follow up lp was a bit stodgy!

it has to be said all the same that Joni Mitchell was ripping off the
Burundi drummers long before Adam and Talcy Malcy got the idea- go listen to
the Jungle line from "the hissing of summer lawns" if you don't believe
me -in fact just go listen to that record -a classic...

finally re the Verlaine piece why do so many english and american writers
constantly misuse and misspell french idiom and expressions ?-if i read yet
another pretentious ninny writing the feminine nee instead of ne for a male
subject...aaaarrgghh!!!!(steam coming out of ears in a Peter Bagge style)...

thanx for taking the time to transcribe the article all the same Leo -it's
still pretty interesting though i'm gonna consult with a piano tuning friend
to see if what TV contends is actually true...
