(TV) Alan Rudolph An Influence on Verlaine's Songwriting?

Alan Rudolph's films are populated by quirky, romantic, misfit drifters
who have trouble communicating. Keith Carradine is in two films. (Tom's
been told he resembles him.) In one film Kris Kristofferson plays a
character called "Hawk", the name of the song Tom chose to cover on the
new Kristofferson tribute album. (I think the original song title was
"El Gavilan", Spanish for hawk?)
