Wow, lots of versions kicking around out there. Back when I first got my (screwy, original) CCM reissue, I loaded a track from it into ProTools alongside the same track from my German edition and compared waveforms... boosted the quieter one to the volume level of the louder one, burned off a CDR and listened to them back to back for a while, and even intended to digitize the same track off the LP to see what I came up with, but never did. Sad thing is I totally forget what I concluded... one was clearly more compressed... or something.

It's surprising to me that Collector's actually issued not one but ultimately two previously not-on-CD mixes. All of their reissues of the IRS stuff (including Flash Light and the Lets Active albums) are famously exactly the same as the original '80's discs, and at least one other reissue I've gotten from them had actual (vinyl?) skips printed on it and had to be reprinted just like TV. Just doesn't seem like they go back to the original tapes that often, but I guess in this case they did...

np. the new Interpol, which sounds a lot like Television, by which I mean Gang of Four (or more precisely The Chameleons, but definitely not really Television)
