Re: (TV) OT: The movies/music our parents did/didn't turn us onto

She loves 'em -- that's how she came to Hitchcock, after making me play "I
Wanna Destroy You" to all her little friends. Great song for maniac tykes.
Per Joe, she likes XTC too (both my daughters do) and is on a big Zappa kick
at the moment (as with you, I'm screening a lot of the stuff, but again,
"Don't Eat the Yellow Snow" should hopefully someday lead to "Son of Mr.
Green Genes"). Thanks for the Laurie Anderson tip; I'll have to drag out the
vinyl.

With all of this, we're lucky we're still living (more or less) in the rock
era so we're still speaking (more or less) the same language as our
children. Not true with our parents, especially if they're older -- the
divide between pre-rock and post was almost insurmountable, at least in my
case.
