Smith/ RE: (TV) capturing screenshots/ Digitalizing Vinyl & Analogue tapes

Is there a web-page with a Patti Smith 'gigography' that includes the 1990s
(similar to The Wonder's one for Telev/TV?) My question is Verlaine
related, but not Top-Secret.

I'd ask this Q at the other List but there's been so little activity there
the last month, plus I saw Robin's tech Q (plus these particular cassettes
and vinyl records are *not* Telev/TV recordings).

Before I can transfer the music from a vinyl record or tape I, of course,
need to connect my PC's input port to my stereo's amplifier (either my amp's
headphone jack or my amp's 'audio out' plugs) with an audio cable.

1. Which connection is superior: to headphone jack or to 'audio out' plugs?

2. For 'audio out' plug connection won't I need a 'Y' cable connection since
PC-'end' just has one input port? (2a. But won't that cause converted file
to be mono?)

3. For such a cable, is it worth paying for a 'gold-plated' aka more
expensive cable or would something I already have laying around the house or
from Radio Shack suffice? Thanks in advance.

I'm probably too late, but---

Robin, do you have Nero 6 (or higher)? If you do capturing a screenshot is
simple:

1. Open Nero-ShowTime; Play your DVD; hit "Pause" at the spot (frame) you
want to capture.

2. Click "Preferences button (or CTR+C); click the plus sign (+) to the left
of "General", this displays list of setting options.

3. Click "Capture Frame" in the left panel; in the "Capture To" Group click
on either "Clipboard or " File".

4. In the "Captured Aspect Ratio" Group click on "Original Video Source
Size" or "Current Video Window Size".

5. Click the "Capture Frame" button. You're dunn.

(Steps 2-4 just set your preferences; once they are set you never need to do
those steps again in future unless you want to change a preference.)
