Re: (TV) Torn Curtain

Thanks for all this info Leo.  I knew that you would have all the answ
ers.  And I went back and found the listing that you sent me earlier f
or the dates of them playing Torn Curtain.  So thanks again for that t
oo.

It's a shame that Tom has in his mind that the slower songs don't
go over well w/ his audiences so tends to leave them out.  I mean, mos
t bands usually mix up their shows w/some slower ones between the rockin' o
nes.  But from what you mentioned Andy said about playing TC live, I g
uess he felt somewhat similar w/ that song.  And I would be curious as
to which version Russ was referring to that sounded almost 'metal'. ha!

None of these 10 exceed the length the studio versi
on (both Men With Beards
vinyl version, and Remastered cd 2004 version on
 the album marquee Moon are
6:58 [not 7:10 as the liner notes say].

The song first appeared on a recording June 12 (or 13 or 14), 1975 at CBGBs
.

The longest of these 10 is 6:27on Feb.16, 1976, CBGBs.  Whereas
 on the
current tour the November 7, 2013, The Georgia Theater, Athens, G
eorgia show
has a 7:30.6 version (excluding tuning-up).

I might not be as precise as Leo but I clock that Athens, Geor
gia version of
TC in at about 7:33.  The TC that was the bonus track
on their CD of MM is
listed at 7:10.  Does anyone know if there are
 any longer recorded versions
out there?  Leo?  Anyone?  A
lso, I just love the delicate sounding ending
they put on this one.

And I know that they were supposed to recreate the album for that Australia
n
ATP show but I wish that they would mix up the songs more at the other
shows
and play some more off their other albums too.  But then I gue
ss most people
who come to their shows want to hear MM.  I'd prefer
to hear the rarely
played ones, but they do sound good as a band.

An
d sorry to disagree w/ you Glenn, but I just find Psychotic Reaction
'dul
lsville'.
