cobain wrote better lyrics and sang with more angst and the sound is deep on
what i call the rock and roll verities -- bono fans note real not faux (btw,
how can that guy sing i love you dripping with anxiety anyway?). at that
time, at least for an oldster like me, about all that was out there was
fringe like pere ubu or tv or cale and the mainstream was bs cept for dylan
perhaps. enter replacments, husker then nirvana then it all went sour as it
usually does.
